OpTecBB and the Berlin Optik Student Chapter are hosting a career event on photonics start-ups on October 18th in Adlershof, as part of the “Photonic Days Berlin Brandenburg”. Graduates and young professionals from STEM fields are full of great ideas and potential, and you might have been wondering if founding your own company might be a viable career alternative. With our career event “Start-Ups: An Alternative Career Path in Photonics”, we want to provide a platform for students and young professionals to gain valuable information and insights. Whether you already have an idea and are after specific information, or you would just like to find out more about start-ups as a career option in general, you are welcome to attend.
The event offers advice and first-hand experience from the world of photonics start-ups: with talks from great speakers on how to start, grow, and sell start-ups, where to look for financial support, where to get support within and outside university, and which legal and IP questions might arise.
The program starts at 15:00 at the Erwin-Schrödinger Zentrum (conference room 0’119). After the talks and a discussion session, the event finishes with the Photonics Days Berlin Brandenburg Welcome Reception at WISTA (Rudower Chaussee 17, 12489 Berlin Adlershof).
Students (BSc, MSc, PhD), post-docs and young professionals are invited to join. The event is free, all talks will be in English.
